Analyze any song in one upload. Drop in an audio file and Solmi reports the BPM (tempo), the musical key, its Camelot code for DJ mixing, and the duration — no upload to a server, no signup, and your audio never leaves your device. Supports MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, OGG, and FLAC.
One upload gives you the song's BPM (tempo), its musical key (like A Minor or C Major), the matching Camelot code for DJ mixing, alternate half-time/double-time tempo readings, and the track duration. Everything is computed locally in your browser.
The tempo comes from beat detection: the audio is band-pass filtered to isolate the kick and bass, the loudest peaks are found, and the intervals between them are tallied into a BPM. The key comes from a chromagram — the energy at each of the 12 pitch classes — matched against standard major/minor key profiles (Krumhansl–Schmuckler). Nothing is uploaded; it all runs on your device.
Tempo detection has inherent octave ambiguity — a song at 75 BPM and one at 150 BPM produce a very similar beat pattern. The analyzer shows the most likely tempo first, plus half-time and double-time candidates, so you can pick the one that matches how the song feels.
Very reliable for most popular music with clear harmony. Heavily chromatic tracks, mid-song key changes, or detuned recordings can be ambiguous — and the most common near-miss is the relative key (A Minor vs C Major, which share the same notes). If the result feels off, try the relative key first.
MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, OGG, and FLAC — any format your browser can decode. Larger or longer files take a little longer to analyze.
