Lyric Video Maker: Auto-Synced Lyrics for Any Song

A lyric video maker turns a song into a video that shows the words as they are sung. Solmi's works from the audio alone: upload an MP3 or another audio file, paste a YouTube, TikTok, SoundCloud or Suno link, or pick a song you made on Solmi, and it transcribes the vocal, times every line to the singing, and renders an MP4 with the lyrics over a gradient, a preset image or your own picture, in 16:9 for YouTube or 9:16 for TikTok, Reels and Shorts. If you already have the words, paste them and they are the ones shown, aligned to the vocal. A wrong line can be corrected after the render and the video re-exports at no charge. Generating needs a free Solmi account; a video costs half a credit per second, and a new web account starts with enough credits for about four minutes of lyric video.

Make a lyric video

How to make a lyric video

From a song to a finished lyric video in five steps. A three-minute song renders in a few minutes.

  1. 1. Add the song Paste a YouTube, TikTok, SoundCloud or Suno link and press Attach, upload an audio or video file (MP3, WAV, M4A, FLAC, OGG, AIFF, MP4, MOV, WebM), or choose a song from My songs. Audio can be up to 10 minutes long.
  2. 2. Choose the range The trim editor starts on a 10-second clip; drag the handles to the chorus, pick a preset length, or press Full track for the whole song. The price updates as you change the range: half a credit per second.
  3. 3. Paste the lyrics if you have them Optional. Pasted lyrics become the words on screen, aligned to the vocal by the transcription. Leave the box empty and the words come from the transcription alone.
  4. 4. Pick the look Choose a gradient, a preset image or upload your own; pick 16:9 for YouTube or 9:16 for TikTok, Reels and Shorts; set the text to the center or the bottom; choose Bold, Modern, Elegant or Handwritten type.
  5. 5. Generate, check the words, download Press Generate. When the render finishes, play it; if a line is wrong, open Edit lyrics, correct it, and the video re-exports at no extra charge. Download the MP4 or make a fresh one with a different look.

What the lyric video maker does

  • Auto lyrics: the words are transcribed from the vocal and timed line by line, with the sung language detected first
  • Any source: MP3, WAV, M4A, FLAC, OGG or AIFF files, MP4/MOV/WebM videos, a YouTube, TikTok, SoundCloud or Suno link, or a song from your Solmi library
  • Paste your own lyrics and they are shown in place of the transcript, synced to the singing
  • Backgrounds: Ocean, Deep or Aqua gradients, Watercolor, Neon Rain, Aurora or Floral presets, or an image you upload
  • Four type styles (Bold, Modern, Elegant, Handwritten), text centered or at the bottom, 16:9 or 9:16
  • MP4 at 1080p, no watermark; fix any line afterwards and re-export for free

What you upload and what you get

The maker takes the audio and does the rest. It accepts the common audio formats and the three common video containers (it uses the audio track of a video), or fetches the audio from a link. The output is one MP4 at the resolution you choose, 1080p by default, with the lyrics burned into the picture so they play everywhere, including players that ignore subtitle tracks.

How the auto lyrics work

Solmi first listens to a short passage of the song to detect the language being sung, then transcribes the whole selection in that language with a speech-to-text model, so a Spanish or Japanese song gets Spanish or Japanese captions rather than an English translation. Each transcribed segment becomes one caption line with a start and end time, and the lines are burned into the video in sync with the vocal. Transcription is good but not perfect: on dense rap, heavy effects or mumbled verses a word can come out wrong. Two things fix that. Paste the lyrics before generating, and the words on screen are yours, aligned to the timing the transcription found; or, after the render, open Edit lyrics, correct the line, and the video is re-exported at no charge. Instrumental sections stay clear of text.

Pricing: what is free, exactly

A lyric video costs 0.5 credit per second of video, rounded up to a whole credit, at any resolution: a 10-second clip is 5 credits, a 30-second chorus is 15, a 3-minute song is 90, and the 10-minute maximum is 300. Signing up on the web is free and gives a new account 100 music-video credits plus 20 general credits, both of which this tool can spend, so the first account can render about 240 seconds of lyric video, a full song, at 1080p with no watermark. Signing up in the iOS or Android app gives 30 general credits, about 60 seconds. After that, a free account's general credits refill to 10 every day, which is 20 seconds of lyric video a day. Paid plans start at $35 a month for 2,000 credits, about 66 minutes of lyric video, and add commercial use. Fixing lyrics on a finished video and re-exporting it is free on every plan.

Lyric video, visualizer, or music video?

Three different tools fit three different needs. A lyric video puts the words on screen and is the right pick for a release, a cover, or a song whose lyrics carry it. If you want moving shapes to the beat with no words, Solmi's audio visualizer renders spectrum bars or a waveform in your browser at no cost. If you want a real video with scenes, a performer and lip-sync, the AI music video generator storyboards and renders one from the song. You can make each of them from the same track, and the lyric video is the cheapest of the three by a wide margin because it is rendered locally rather than by a video model.

Lyric video maker FAQ

How do I make a lyric video for free?

Create a free Solmi account on the web: it starts with 100 music-video credits and 20 general credits, and a lyric video costs half a credit per second, so that is about four minutes of video, enough for one full song at 1080p with no watermark. After the starter credits, general credits refill to 10 a day, which is 20 seconds a day.

What are auto lyrics, and where do they come from?

A tool that produces the lyrics of a song from its audio, with timing, instead of you typing them. This lyric video maker does that: it detects the sung language, transcribes the vocal, times each line, and burns the lines into the video. You can also paste the lyrics and use the transcription only for the timing.

Can it generate lyrics from a video?

Yes. Upload an MP4, MOV or WebM and the maker uses its audio track: it transcribes the singing and renders a new lyric video from it. It does not keep your original footage; the background is a gradient, a preset or an image you choose.

Can I make a lyric video from a YouTube or Suno link?

Yes. Paste a YouTube, TikTok, SoundCloud or Suno link and press Attach; Solmi fetches the audio and shows the length. Spotify links are not accepted because Spotify only provides 30-second previews. Only use audio you have the rights to.

Is the lyric video watermarked?

No. Lyric videos are rendered without a watermark at every resolution and on every plan, including a free account. Resolution is 480p, 720p or 1080p, and the price is the same at all three.

Which languages does it support?

The transcription detects the language that is sung before it transcribes, so songs in Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Hindi and most other widely spoken languages are captioned in that language, not translated. Pasted lyrics can be in any language.

What aspect ratio should I use for TikTok or YouTube?

Pick 9:16 for TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts and Stories, and 16:9 for a regular YouTube upload. Choose it before you generate; the text size and margins are set for each shape.

How long can the song be, and can I use only the chorus?

Audio can be up to 10 minutes. The trim editor starts on a 10-second clip; drag the handles or press Full track. You pay only for the seconds you render, so a 30-second chorus costs 15 credits.
