You can turn one product photo into a short video ad without filming anything: an AI ad generator builds a scene around the product, like a presenter talking to the camera or a 3D-style reveal, and returns a vertical clip for TikTok, Reels, and Shorts. This guide walks through Solmi's AI video ad generator, one photo in and an MP4 of 1 to 15 seconds out, from the photo, the style, and the spoken line to captions, the end card, AI labels, and the checks before the ad runs. Making a product-only ad with no presenter? Try the AI product video generator.
The photo is the only picture of your product the AI sees. Use one that is sharp and well lit, of one product, on a plain background, vertical for a 9:16 ad, and clear on its label. The Standard tier can follow the photo's own shape even when 9:16 is selected, so don't count on it to reframe a landscape photo, and the AI can change small text and details, so a readable label gives it the best chance. Upload a JPG, PNG, or WebP of up to 20 MB; for the try-on styles, upload the clothing, accessory, or cosmetic itself. No product photo yet? Make one with the AI image generator, as the template photos were; that shows an imagined product, though, so for a product you sell, photograph the real thing. Or paste the product's page link instead: Solmi shows up to eight of its photos, picks the first (tap another to swap), and fills in the product's name for Write the line. Some stores block automated visits; then upload a photo. There is no catalog or bulk import.
The style decides the scene the AI builds around your product, and there are ten. UGC ad is the native look of TikTok and Reels; the try-on styles suit clothing, accessories, and cosmetics. The packaging in Unboxing and Delivery is made up by the AI, and so is the result in Before/after, which is no proof the product works; Meta and TikTok restrict before-and-after images in ads for weight loss and other health products. Product highlight puts no one on camera, and the AI product video generator opens the same studio on that style. For the other styles you can pick a presenter: one of eight AI presenters, or your own photo (only of yourself or someone who agreed to appear). Or start from one of the 14 templates: each fills in the style, a scripted direction, the length, and its presenter, and has a preview. The post plays three template previews, each made from one AI-made product photo on the Standard tier at 720p: Chrome sneaker reveal (Product highlight, 10 seconds), Morning skincare (UGC ad, 10 seconds, with an AI presenter speaking the template's sample script), and Vinyl record unboxing (Unboxing, 10 seconds, hands only).
| Style | What the AI makes |
|---|---|
| UGC ad | A presenter holds up the product and talks about it, filmed like a phone video |
| How-to demo | Someone shows how to use the product, step by step, in close-ups |
| Unboxing | A person opens a package and lifts the product out |
| Product highlight | The product spins and floats in a 3D-style scene, with no person |
| Product review | Someone tries the product for the first time and reacts |
| Cinematic ad | A TV-commercial look: dramatic light, slow motion, a closing hero shot |
| UGC try-on | The product worn or applied, selfie-style at a mirror |
| Professional try-on | The product on a model in a studio, from several angles |
| Before/after | The problem first, a quick cut, then the result with the product in use |
| Delivery | A parcel arrives and the product comes out of the box at home |
Leave the direction box empty and the AI writes the spoken line itself, and it can invent claims, like what a cream does for your skin. When the words matter, give it the line. Type it in the direction box, with the setting or the camera if you like, for example: The presenter holds the product up to the phone camera and says: "Okay, I finally found a water bottle that fits my car's cup holder." Or tap Write the line: enter the product's name (a product link fills it in) and pick one of three short lines written from it, and from the page's description when there is one. They are written to restate the product text, not to add results, numbers, or prices, but check them anyway. Keep the line short: about 20 words fits a 4 to 8 second clip. Then check, with the sound on, that the presenter says your line.
Seen an ad whose opening works? Tap Reference ad and upload it: MP4, MOV, or WebM, up to 60 seconds and 20 MB. For 2 credits, Solmi turns its opening format (the hook, setting, camera, and pacing) into the direction for one short clip, with new words for your product. It leaves out the reference's words, brand, and people, and does not remake the whole ad. Upload only videos you're allowed to use.
Standard makes 1 to 15 seconds and Best 4 to 15 seconds, both at 480p or 720p, vertical 9:16 by default, or square or landscape. Show the product in the first two seconds, when viewers decide whether to keep watching, and keep one product and one message per ad. The price is shown before you generate and updates as you change the settings; at 720p on Standard, a 4-second ad costs 45 credits. One Generate can make up to three versions from the same inputs, each charged the single price. To test another hook or style, change it and generate again.
Press Finish ad on a result and choose what to add: captions of what is said, for viewers with the sound off, which on a vertical ad sit above the area where TikTok, Reels, and Shorts put their own caption and buttons; a 2-second end card with your product photo, a call to action ("Shop now" unless you change it), and an optional link or handle; and an original instrumental jingle made with Solmi's AI music generator, under the voice or instead of the ad's sound, for 5 more credits. Finish ad costs 2 credits and makes a new MP4; the original stays in your creations. There is no logo upload, and the call to action is part of the video, not a clickable button, so add the platform's own button in its ads manager.
Download the MP4 and upload it where the ad will run: TikTok Ads Manager, Meta Ads Manager for Reels, or YouTube and Google Ads for Shorts. Keep 9:16, and keep the product clear of the bottom and right edge, where the apps overlay their own text and buttons.
TikTok asks advertisers to mark ads that contain AI-generated content with the disclosure setting in TikTok Ads Manager, and can reject or restrict ads that should carry it. Meta requires a disclosure for realistic AI-made images, video, or audio in ads about social issues, elections, or politics, and can add an "AI info" label to other ads. Rules change, so check each platform's current ad policies, and never present an AI presenter as a real customer.
Watch the finished ad with the sound on and check that every claim is true for your product, with nothing invented about results or prices, and that the product matches the real one: label, logo, color, shape, and size, since small details can change or be added. You need the rights to the photo, the product design and logos in it, and anyone in a presenter photo. Ads made with a paid plan or a credit pack can be used commercially; creations on the free plan are for personal, non-commercial use only.
General image-to-video models such as Kling, PixVerse, and Seedance let you upload the photo and write the whole prompt yourself: scene, camera, action, and dialogue. That is full control, but you shape the ad yourself. Solmi's ad styles are ready-made ad directions for models like these; its Best tier runs Seedance 2.0 Mini. Product-link avatar tools such as Creatify, Topview, and Zeely take a product page and draft a scripted video, usually with an AI avatar, and some also make static ads or run campaigns. They suit stores with many products or longer talking videos. The fair test is to run the same product photo through two or three tools and compare the ads.
Yes. An AI video ad generator builds a short clip around one product photo, such as a presenter holding the product or a 3D-style reveal. Solmi's AI video ad generator makes an MP4 of 1 to 15 seconds in one of ten ad styles. The people and settings are AI-generated, so check every detail and claim before the ad runs.
