Turn a story into a short film. Write what it's about, edit the free script, and approve a storyboard of every shot before Solmi films it, with spoken lines, natural sound and an original score.
From a few lines of story to a finished MP4 film in three steps.
A film is paid in two steps. The storyboard is 5 credits a picture: one for each character and one for each shot. Filming it is 4 credits a second and 5 for the score (none without music); a shot runs 4 seconds, or 6 to 8 when someone speaks, and the script picks how many shots your length needs. Redrawing a frame is 5 credits. Writing the script is free, every price shows on its button, and a storyboard or film that fails is refunded. The table shows typical films with one character.
| Length | Credits with music |
|---|---|
| About 15 seconds | About 85 credits |
| About 30 seconds | About 165 credits |
| About 45 seconds | About 240 credits |
| About 60 seconds | About 315 credits |
Films run about 15 to 60 seconds at 720p, in 16:9 or 9:16. The cast is invented from your story and always grown-ups: you can't put yourself or a real person in a film here, it never copies a celebrity, and you can't add your own music. There are no subtitles or on-screen titles. Lines are voiced in each shot, so a character's voice can change from one shot to the next, and small details can drift between shots, so watch the film before you share it. Yes. Write what your film is about, and Solmi writes a script of scenes and shots, draws a storyboard frame for every shot, and once you approve it films each shot with its own sound under an original score. You edit the script and fix any frame before you pay for the film.
The storyboard is 5 credits a picture, one for each character and each shot, and filming it is 4 credits a second plus 5 for the score: a film of about 30 seconds is about 165 credits. Redrawing a frame is 5 credits and writing the script is free. A new account's 20 starter credits are not enough for a film, so buy credits or a plan first. A storyboard or film that fails is refunded.
Yes. Every frame can be redrawn from scratch, or changed: describe what to change, like "make it night" or "she holds a lantern", and the rest of the frame stays as it is. Each redraw is 5 credits, and nothing is filmed until you press Film it.
They can. The script gives a character a short line in a shot where it helps the story, and that shot is filmed with the line spoken in it and the scene's own sound. You can change or remove a line before you draw the storyboard.
Yes, when you make it on a paid plan or with a credit pack; creations on the free plan are for personal, non-commercial use. Your story must not copy someone else's characters or a real person.
